We match the OEM thickness or go heavier.

Signs Your DoorKing Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

• The gate sags visibly at the hinge end. The hinge plate has stretched or the weld has cracked, and the gate is now pulling against the operator instead of riding on it. The motor is working harder, burning hotter, and wearing out faster.
• The operator arm thuds or clunks when the gate opens or closes. The mounting bracket has torn loose from the post or column, and the operator is hammering against the slack with every cycle.
• A slide gate grinds or chatters along the track. The idler bracket or rail support has shifted out of alignment, and the steel is grinding against the concrete or the rail itself.
• You can see rust bleeding through paint at a weld joint. The weld has been compromised from the inside. In Irvine’s coastal air, surface rust at a stress point moves quickly into structural rust.
• The gate stops mid-cycle and reverses. The operator’s obstruction sensor is reading the extra drag from a failing hinge or bracket. The electronics are fine. The steel underneath is not.

There is a safe version of checking your own gate. You can look at the hinge plates and operator mount with the gate in manual mode and the power disconnected. You can look for cracked paint, rust lines, and a visible gap between the plate and the post. You can push the gate by hand slowly and feel for binding. That is where a safe inspection ends.

Welding on an automated gate means working with 240-volt operator wiring, heavy steel under tension, and a moving gate that can weigh 400 pounds or more.
